The Purple Arrow ("we", "us", "our") provides a website, Secure Vault, Amy digital support guide, and related resources at thepurplearrow.com.au (collectively, the "Services").
Our mission is to support survivors of domestic and family violence by providing information, resources, and tools to help them understand their options and access appropriate services. We are an advocacy and support organisation — not a legal practice, medical provider, or crisis service.
2. Not Legal Advice
Nothing on this website, from Amy, or from any TPA team member constitutes legal advice.
The information and tools we provide are for general informational and support purposes only. They do not create a lawyer-client relationship between you and The Purple Arrow. You should not act or refrain from acting based solely on information you receive from us without first seeking independent legal advice.

3. Eligibility
Our Services are intended for people aged 18 and over. By using our Services, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old.
Our Services are primarily designed for people located in Australia, with a focus on Queensland law and services. While anyone may access our website, legal information relating to protection orders and domestic violence legislation is specific to Australian jurisdictions and may not be applicable outside Australia.
4. Your Account
When you create a Secure Vault account, you are responsible for:
- Keeping your password confidential and not sharing it with others
- All activity that occurs under your account
- Notifying us immediately at hello@thepurplearrow.com.au if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission
You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. We will remove your account and any associated data that we hold (note: data stored only on your device in browser local storage is outside our control and must be cleared by you).
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use our Services to:
- Provide false or misleading information
- Impersonate another person or entity
- Harass, abuse, or harm another person
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of our Services or another user's account
- Use our Services for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to interfere with the operation of our website or infrastructure
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to our Services for any user who violates these terms.
6. Amy — Digital Support Guide
Amy is a scripted digital support guide designed to help you understand your options in relation to domestic and family violence, particularly protection orders in Queensland. Amy is:
- Not a human — Amy is an automated tool, not a person
- Not a lawyer — Amy's guidance does not constitute legal advice
- Not a crisis service — Amy cannot call for help or contact emergency services on your behalf
Documents generated by Amy (including protection order preparation forms) are preparation aids only. They must be reviewed carefully and, where applicable, by a qualified legal professional before being lodged with any court or authority.
The Purple Arrow accepts no liability for any action taken or not taken based on Amy's guidance without independent verification.
7. The Secure Vault
The Secure Vault is a free tool for registered users to store safety plans, documents, and incident records. You understand and agree that:
- Incident journal entries and attachments are stored on your device only — we cannot access or recover this data
- If you clear your browser storage or change devices, this data will be permanently lost
- You are responsible for maintaining your own backups (e.g. by downloading your witness statement PDF regularly)
- The vault is not a substitute for legal advice, formal evidence lodgement, or professional support
We recommend using a private/incognito browser when accessing the vault if you are concerned about someone else seeing your browser history.
8. Your Content
Content you create within the vault (journal entries, uploaded documents) remains yours. We do not claim ownership of it.
When you submit a form through our website (such as a protection order assistance request), you consent to that information being received and reviewed by The Purple Arrow team for the purpose of providing support. We handle this information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
9. Service Availability
We aim to keep our Services available at all times but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may need to take the Services offline for maintenance, updates, or due to circumstances outside our control.
We will not be liable for any loss or inconvenience caused by service unavailability.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, The Purple Arrow excludes all liability for:
- Any loss or damage arising from your reliance on information provided through our Services without independent verification
- Loss of data stored in browser local storage
- Any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss
- Actions taken or not taken based on Amy's guidance
Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law where those rights cannot be excluded by contract.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time if we believe you have violated these terms or for any other reason at our discretion. We will attempt to give you notice where it is safe and reasonable to do so.
You may stop using our Services at any time. To request deletion of your account and any data we hold, contact hello@thepurplearrow.com.au.
12. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of our Services after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
